Alexis represents a broad range of clients, including multi-national and national corporations, professional services firms and public bodies. She approaches all disputes with an eye to creative and practical solutions to complex legal issues. Alexis’ diverse corporate/commercial litigation practice includes securities, class actions, insolvency, professional negligence, product liability and defamation matters. Alexis represents clients before courts and tribunals of first instance as well as at the appellate level.
Alexis devotes a significant amount of time to pro bono matters. She is presently acting for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peterborough in a lawsuit brought against its ex-Executive Director, who pled guilty to defrauding the organization of significant sums over a six-year period. Alexis has previously acted for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association in: Good v. Toronto (Police Services Board), 2016 ONCA 250; and P.S. v. Ontario, 2014 ONCA 160. Alexis also volunteers as duty counsel for Pro Bono Ontario on an ongoing basis.
