Amanda has a broad corporate commercial litigation and dispute resolution practice. Amanda has been an advocate for her clients in class actions, insolvency and restructuring, insurance coverage and defence, arbitrations, construction, and energy litigation.

Amanda has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, all levels of Court in Alberta, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Amanda maintains an active pro bono practice and involvement in her community. She is a mentor for female law students with Calgary Women Studying Law Association (CWSLA) and Chair of the Canadian Bar Association – Civil Litigation (South). Amanda is also a former director of the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). Amanda is an avid diver and looks forward to volunteering with dive groups to clean up the ocean.

    • Counsel to Facebook, Inc. in a summary trial for a privacy class action in British Columbia; also representing Facebook in its defence of other proposed privacy class actions
    • Counsel to Teva Branded Pharmaceutical Products in several proposed class actions. Successfully opposed certification in a proposed class action (reported at Felker v. Teva Branded Pharmaceutical Products R, 2022 BCSC 1813)
    • Counsel to KingSett Mortgage Corporation in negotiations and enforcement of loan proceedings
    • * Counsel to Canada Bread Company, Limited in a proposed class action in the packaged bread industry alleging breaches of the Competition Act and various other economic claims (reported at Ravvin v Canada Bread Company, 2020 ABCA 287 and 2019 ABQB 686
    • * Counsel to the court-appointed receiver and foreign representative, Ernst & Young Inc., in the cross border (receivership/Chapter 15) proceedings of BOS Solutions Ltd., BOS Solutions Inc., BOS LeaseCo LLC, BOS Solutions Real Estate Inc. and BOS USHoldCo Inc. (oil and gas services and environmental solutions)
    • * Counsel to the lender in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act proceedings of Sundance Place II Ltd., Sundance Place II 1000 Limited Partnership by its General Partner Sundance Place II Ltd., et al as part of the Strategic Group CCAA proceedings
    • * Successfully represented two insureds in a precedent-setting case involving an insurer's obligation to advise of the limitation period under the Fair Practices Regulation (reported at Statt v SGI Canada Insurance Services Ltd, 2019 ABQB 828)
    • * Advising insurer-side parties on coverage disputes involving COVID-19 business interruption loss, faulty design and workmanship exclusions, subrogation, peril exclusions, limitation periods, terrorism exclusions, as well as liability coverage in major industrial project works
    • * Represented domestic and international insurance market regarding coverage for tank failures in the Alberta Oil Sands
    • * Successfully represented AMEC Foster Wheeler in dismissing an 18-year old litigation (reported at Altex International Heat Exchanger Ltd v Foster Wheeler Limited, 2018 ABQB 620)
    • * Successfully represented Galvanic Applied Sciences Inc. before the Alberta Court of Appeal dismissing dissenting shareholders' application for value determination of shares (reported at Morrison v. Galvanic Applies Sciences Inc., 2017 ABQB 514)
