Churyl is a partner in Osler’s Real Estate Group. Her practice focuses on land use planning and development, municipal law, and expropriations. She advises public and private sector clients on a wide range of matters including zoning, policy development, subdivision, development permits, offsite levies and infrastructure cost recovery, and property assessments. Churyl assists landowners and tenants with government land acquisitions, including through voluntary processes and expropriations.

Churyl appears before planning tribunals and municipal councils, advises on court remedies, and represents private and public sector clients on applications for judicial review. Churyl is active in professional bodies including as a regular speaker, Vice-Chair of the Alberta CBA Municipal Law (South) Section, and Co-Chair of the Alberta Municipal Legal Advisers conference.
