Geneviève is an associate in our Montreal office and a member of Osler’s Emerging and High Growth Companies Group. She practices corporate law with an emphasis on private equity/venture capital investments, emerging and high growth companies, corporate finance and private mergers and acquisitions.

Geneviève regularly advises emerging companies at all stages of growth as well as the venture capital funds, growth equity and private equity funds that finance them. Geneviève also has a wide range of experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, general corporate matters.

She joined the firm as a summer student in 2009 and completed her articling with the firm in 2012. Geneviève returned to Osler as an associate in 2012.

Geneviève completed her LL.L. at the University of Ottawa and her J.D. degree at Queen’s University. Prior to law school, Geneviève obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University with a concentration in Philosophy. While at Queen’s University she participated in an exchange with the McGill Africa Field Study Program (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda). While at the University of Ottawa, she spent a semester at the University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong).

    • TPG Capital LP, in connection with its agreement to form a partnership (with Fosun, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Guy Laliberté) and to acquire the Cirque du Soleil (the largest private equity deal in Québec in 2015).
    • Groupe ST, in its acquisition of VideoWave Networks Inc.
    • Amaya Gaming Group Inc., in connection with the sale of Ongame Network Limited by its wholly owned subsidiary, Cryptologic Limited, to NYX Gaming (Gibraltar) Limited as well as the related investment of Amaya Gaming Group Inc. in NYX Gaming Group Ltd. by the issuance of a convertible debenture.
    • Blockstream Corporation, in a US$21 million seed preferred share financing.
    • CAE Inc., in its $19.8 million acquisition of the shares and assets of the military aviation training business of Bombardier Inc.
    • Unique Solutions Design Ltd., a company commercializing proprietary technology and data analytics for body scanning and clothes sizing, in connection with its reorganization by plan of arrangement and the creation of MeID, Inc.
    • Beyond the Rack Enterprises Inc., in connection with rounds of financing totalling over $50 million.
    • Persistence Capital Partners, in the sale of its portfolio company, MedAxio Insurance Medical Services, to Gamma-Dynacare, a Canadian subsidiary of LabCorp (NYSE: LH).
    • Gaz Métro Limited Partnership, in connection with numerous private placements of debt and equity securities.
    • Gaz Métro Limited Partnership, in connection with the financing of the acquisition of Central Vermont Public Service Corporation for $472 million, through its subsidiary NNEC.
    • Gaz Métro Plus Limited Partnership, in connection with the sale of its investment in HydroSolution.
    • SCL Elements Inc., in its sale to Schneider Electric, a global energy management company.
