In her unique role, Gillian provides strategic leadership on the assessment, development, staffing, pricing, launch, sale, and scale of Osler’s innovative legal products and service offerings. Through the Osler Workshop, Gillian focuses on transforming the business of law and providing maximum value to clients by addressing their pain points and service gaps through innovative products and packaged services, including Osler DashTM and Osler ACTionTM

Gillian’s 15 years as a commercial litigator and litigation partner at Osler, and three years in Client Development inform her understanding of client challenges and business objectives, and approach to developing and delivering customer-focused products and service offerings.

    • Advising and defending a national bank in a number of disputes relating to the alleged disclosure of personal customer information
    • Advising Western Union, LinkedIn and other technology companies in respect of court proceedings relating to customer information access requests
    • Acting for blue-chip software company in licensing dispute relating to complex patent infringement litigation
    • Defending Amex Bank of Canada Inc., in a proposed class proceeding against a national bank with respect to prepaid card products
    • Representing General Motors of Canada Limited in numerous disputes and ongoing matters relating to the restructuring of its dealer network across Canada
    • Representing Yogurtworld Enterprises Inc. (dba Menchies) in a rescission claim brought by multi-unit franchisees
    • Advising and representing numerous franchisors in disputes with their franchisees relating to terminations, rescission claims, restrictive covenant and intellectual property matters
    • Representing the debtor InterTAN Canada Ltd. (Canadian subsidiary of Circuit City) in proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act
    • Acting for a major international airline in a regulatory investigation and parallel class action proceedings in Ontario, Québec and B.C. relating to allegations of price-fixing in the global and domestic air passenger and freight industries
    • The Royal Trust Company in launching a summary judgement motion seeking interpretations of commercial agreements governing the sale of a business, in response to a claim brought by beneficiaries of an estate
    • Culligan of Canada Ltd. and Culligan International in the settlement of an action by a bottled water distributor who claimed to be a franchisee and a beneficiary under a California settlement agreement in the settlement of an action by a bottled water distributor who claimed to be a franchisee and a beneficiary under a California settlement agreement
