Tearney is an associate in Osler’s Financial Services group. Her practice is focused on a wide range of corporate and financing matters, including domestic and cross-border commercial lending, acquisition financings, project financings and securitizations, as well as the regulation of financial institutions.
After earning her Honours Arts and Business (Co-op) degree at the University of Waterloo, specializing in legal studies and political science, Tearney went on to obtain her J.D. from Queen’s University.
Prior to joining Osler, Tearney gained industry experience working in regulatory compliance at a prominent insurance and financial services company in Toronto. She then joined Osler as a summer student in 2019 and subsequently returned to complete her articles with the firm in 2020-2021, which included a secondment to a major Canadian bank.
