Laura’s practice is focused on environmental, regulatory, indigenous and land issues and litigation. Laura has experience with matters before the Alberta Utilities Commission, the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Canada Energy Regulator (formerly the National Energy Board), the Alberta Securities Commission, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
While completing her masters of law in natural resources, energy and environmental law, Laura worked as a research associate for the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law and as a consultant to various industry groups within the energy sector. After graduating, Laura completed a fellowship at the Canadian Institute of Resources Law and articled at a law firm in Calgary specializing in energy regulatory law. Laura subsequently worked for a civil litigation firm in Calgary before joining Osler.
