Laure is the co-head of the Digital Assets and Blockchain group and a partner in Osler’s Montréal office. Her practice focuses on financial institutions, financial products and services regulation, securities regulation and investment products (including crypto assets and crypto contracts), structured finance and debt capital markets (DCM). As such she notably helps her clients navigate digitization and ESG strategic and regulatory matters.

Laure is regularly called to share her expertise on matters relating to the use of blockchain technology, cryptoassets, digital tokens, artificial intelligence in financial services, regulatory and compliance issues relating to financial services entities and financial products, including banks and investment funds. Laure has also taught a course on credit default swaps and securitization.

Laure holds a master’s degree in business law and a master’s degree in banking and financial law, both from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, as well as a Master of Laws (LLM) from McGill University.

    Prior to joining Osler

    • Crypto asset trading platforms in connection with engaging and obtaining exemptive relief from Canadian Securities Administrators
    • SATO Technologies Corp in connection with its reverse-take over and subsequent trading on the TSX-V in September 2021 as well as regulatory maters and its cryptocurrency mining activities since 2017
    • The syndicate of agents in connection with the public offering of fixed/floating subordinated debentures (sustainability bonds) of iA Financial Corporation Inc. for C$300 million
    • National Bank of Canada in its US$150 million debt issuance and first of its kind blockchain simulation in collaboration with JP Morgan 
    • National Bank of Canada in its establishment and issuance of Limited Recourse Capital Notes (LRCNs)
    • National Bank of Canada in its annual renewals of its C$15 billion legislative covered bonds programme and in its bonds issuance further to the programme (e.g. US$1 billion 2.05% Series CBL11 Covered Bonds due 2022)
    • Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec in its establishment and annual renewals of its C$14 billion legislative covered bonds programme and in its bonds issuance further to the programme (e.g. EUR 5 billion 0.050% Series CBL7 Covered Bonds due 2027)
