Sarah is a lawyer in the Litigation Group of our Toronto office. Prior to joining Osler, Sarah worked for a global law firm based in London, United Kingdom. Her experience has focused on litigation, international arbitration, white collar crime, anti-bribery & corruption, financial & trade sanctions, and modern slavery. She has broad UK and EU investigations and risk advisory experience (contentious and non-contentious) and has worked in a diverse set of industries. She is currently working towards becoming dual-qualified in Ontario.

At her previous firm, Sarah served as co-chair of the employee-led mental health network and was an active ally member of the LGBTQ+ employee network. Sarah continues to be passionate about promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the legal profession.

    *Notable matters prior to joining Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP

    • *Advised a Large Corporate in the Aerospace Industry in an ongoing bribery investigation across multiple jurisdictions.
    • *Advised an Individual Witness to an ongoing UK Serious Fraud Office investigation.
    • *Represented Former Individual Directors in an investigation brought by the Alternative Investment Market in London, advising on communications regarding the investigation and to relevant third parties.
    • *Advised an International Shipping Company on an investigation by the UK National Crime Agency, assisting with interviews and correspondence with relevant third parties.
    • *Advised a Canadian Pension Fund as to regulatory reporting obligations in England & Wales (including in relation to anti-bribery & corruption, and modern slavery reporting).
    • *Advised a Major International Insurer as to the impact of the 2022 Russia/Ukraine sanctions in the United Kingdom, European Union, and United States.
    • *Advised a Large Corporate in the Aviation Industry regarding a United Nations Security Council investigation, analyzing the sanctions risks and correspondence with relevant parties.
    • *Advised a Major Corporate in the Aerospace Industry following a major data breach involving sensitive customer and financial information, assisting in the investigation and communications with multiple regulators and stakeholders around the world.
    • *Advised a Professional Services Firm Based in the United Kingdom in its claim for fees against a former client.
    • *Successfully defended a Global Company in the Mining & Natural Resources Industry in its jurisdictional challenge against an ICC arbitration.

  • After completing her B.A. (Honours) in Political Studies at Queen’s University in 2013, Sarah received her L.L.B. from the University of Warwick in the UK. Sarah completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in London, UK 2016-2017 prior to commencing work as a trainee solicitor for a global law firm in London in 2017. Sarah qualified as an associate solicitor in 2019 and continued to work with the global law firm in London prior to joining Osler as an associate in 2022.
