Scott is an associate in Osler’s Emerging and High Growth Companies group. His practice is focused on advising entrepreneurs at some of Canada’s fastest growing businesses, along with the venture capital, growth equity and private equity funds that finance them.

He obtained his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School and MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Prior to joining Osler, Scott articled at another leading law firm, where he worked on matters for Start-Ups and Emerging Companies as well as Corporate and Capital Markets matters.

Prior to law school, he was a faculty member and lecturer at the University of Western Ontario teaching first-year "Introduction to Business", and also worked as an Investment Banking Analyst representing acquisitive buyers in the lower middle-market.

    • * Represented start-ups in the media, cannabis and artificial intelligence industries on incorporation, corporate governance, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, commercial contracts and financing matters
    • * Represented a leading mutual fund company in its acquisition of approximately $1.12 billion in mutual fund assets from a publically traded asset management firm
    • * Represented a Canadian Crown Corporation in its $2.25 billion fixed-rate and $3.0 billion floating-rate bond issuance on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange
    • * Represented a leading waste and trench-shoring company on its $715 million sale to a strategic buyer in the equipment rental industry
    • * Represented underwriters on a number of private placements for medical device and mining companies in order to fund their growth initiatives
    • * Represented healthcare and industrial companies on a number of asset bolt-on and roll-up acquisitions in order to grow their business platform
