On June 13, 2018, Nvidia Corporation announced plans to open an AI research facility in Toronto to further explore novel approaches to deep learning. The research facility will be led by Sanja Fidler, assistant professor in the computer science department at the University of Toronto.
Sanja Fidler has gained a reputation as one of the brightest talents in the computer science department at the University of Toronto, winning several research and faculty awards. Her main research interests are deep learning and computer vision, with connections to natural language processing.
With this new AI research facility, Nvidia’s goal is to triple the number of AI researchers working under Ms. Fidler by year’s end.
