Overview

The CBA Annual Fall Competition Law Conference takes place in Gatineau, Québec from September 30 to October 1, 2010. Competition law in Canada has never been as important as it is today and this conference brings together an impressive slate of leading Canadian and international competition lawyers, economists and government officials to discuss the current and future state of Canadian competition law. Plenary sessions will address developments in 2009 and 2010 since the amendments were introduced, as well as offer a look ahead. Join  Michelle Lally, Partner, as she moderates a session to review the recent amendments to the Competition Act with a look ahead to the future with a focus on the extent to which the Canadian system is moving toward a U.S.- style regime. Shuli Rodal, Partner, joins a panel that lead discussions through the implications of the new law and the risks that every effective competition law compliance program should address. And Janet Bolton, Partner, moderates a panel to illustrate current enforcement approaches in Canada, the European Union and the United States and to explore the practical and strategic implications of immunity and leniency programs and inter-agency co-operation.
