TELUS Convention Centre, Calgary, AB, Canada

For the first time ever, the Oil Council brings its renowned global series of Assemblies to Canada. Through panel discussions, industry leaders will discuss business-critical issues such as capital raising and investment, M&A and A&D, foreign companies investing in Canada, growth strategies for E&P firms, LNG and access to global markets, regulatory and legal issues.

Janice Buckingham, Partner, Corporate and Chair of Osler’s Oil & Gas practice, moderates a session for over 300 senior executives from Canada’s oil and gas industry, international investors and capital providers from around the world. The session, on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, is titled “Foreign M&A and Joint Ventures.” The session takes place between 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (Mountain Time).

Janice, along with a group of industry leaders from Kinder Morgan Canada, Kanata Energy and Brion Energy Corporation, will discuss the following questions:

  • What types of challenges are facing potential investors in the Canadian resource sector?
  • Has increased scrutiny chilled the foreign M&A market, or can we expect greater deal flow in 2014?
  • How important is the further development of infrastructure in Canada to potential investors?
  • What is the appetite for Canadian LNG assets currently and projected?
  • Which segments of the natural resource and infrastructure industry are best poised for growth?
