Osler is pleased to welcome Alison Hayman and Matthew Diskin to the firm’s top-ranked Intellectual Property practice group as partners based in Toronto.

Alison advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property, including protection, licensing and enforcement. A registered trademark agent, Alison has significant experience managing high-profile domestic and international trademark portfolios for retailers, automotive manufacturers, cannabis businesses, fashion and home décor brands, and businesses in several other sectors.

Alison has frequently been recognized as a leading IP lawyer by Best Lawyers in Canada, Managing Intellectual Property, Lexpert, Chambers Canada, WTR1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals and Who’s Who Legal. In 2023, Managing Intellectual Property named her among the Top 250 Women in IP and as an IP Star (Trademark).

Matthew is an intellectual property and commercial litigator with extensive experience in trademark and copyright disputes, with a focus on IP issues within the media and entertainment industry. With 20 years of experience, Matt advises clients on international and domestic jurisdictional issues, as well as matters related to foreign judgments and foreign letters of request. In 2023, Best Lawyers in Canada recognized Matt in defamation and media law and entertainment law.
