Osler bolsters Financial Services Group in Calgary with the addition of four partners

Osler is pleased to welcome Edward Wooldridge, Paul S. Taylor, Patrick Mah and Sameena Sarangi to the Financial Services Group as partners in the firm’s Calgary office.

The arrival of these four new partners represents another step forward in the expansion of our Calgary office with new expertise coming on board in several practice areas including financial services.

“These new partners are joining Osler’s financial services team at an exciting time for our Calgary office. They will work strategically with clients in Western Canada and nationally as well as supporting our existing Osler team,” says Brian Thiessen, KC, Osler’s Calgary Managing Partner. “Each new partner brings a unique practice focus and successful track record. Edward’s practice advises lenders and borrowers on various financing transactions, including syndicated bank financings, asset-based lending, cross-border and other international financings, and mezzanine and junior financings. He also regularly acts for public and private corporations of all sizes on an assortment of wide-ranging corporate matters.

In his practice, Paul works on real estate and finance-related matters acting for developers, brokers, purchasers, vendors, landlords, tenants, lenders and borrowers in Alberta and internationally.

With experience in corporate finance, Patrick focuses on banking, corporate and commercial lending and real estate finance. He acts for borrowers, financial institutions, administrative agents and sponsors, and clients on a range of transactions, from bilateral facilities to cross-border syndicated facilities. Patrick also works across several sectors, including healthcare, retail, commercial, hotel and leisure.

Sameena advises lenders and borrowers on debt financing transactions, both syndicated and bilateral, including acquisition, cross-border, project, asset-based, and real estate financings. She also has experience advising clients on a variety of corporate and commercial matters.
