Emily is an associate in the Tax group. Emily assists on a wide range of tax controversy and planning matters. She has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada and has assisted on matters at various levels of court, including the Tax Court of Canada, Supreme Court of Canada, and Alberta Court of King's Bench.
After articling at Osler, Emily clerked for the Honourable Justice Kasirer at the Supreme Court of Canada and for the justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
In addition to her tax practice, Emily has an active pro bono practice, through which she has worked on a variety of constitutional, criminal, and public law matters. She was named to the Pro Bono Ontario honour roll in 2024.
Emily graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 2019. During law school, she acted as a Research Assistant for Professors Kim Brooks and Elaine Craig, in the areas of tax law and sexual assault law. She completed her articles at the firm, with rotations in the Tax, Research, Litigation, Corporate, and Financial Services (Regulatory) groups.
