Osler congratulates James Brown on being recognized as a 2018 Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyers Under 40. The awards, which recognize lawyers under the age of 40 at the top of their profession, were announced on November 8 during a ceremony at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
James is a partner in Osler’s Corporate Group and is also Co-Chair of the Mining Group. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities and general corporate matters. James also routinely provides ongoing advice to public and private corporations in a wide variety of industries on regulatory compliance matters, corporate governance and continuous disclosure obligations.
James also plays an integral role in helping the firm integrate new technologies to support client needs. He is involved in a number of Osler’s practice management and innovation initiatives, and also participates in new technology trials designed to build practice efficiencies.
James is also actively involved with Osler’s Student Committee and the Osler’s student and associate recruitment processes. He also acts as an advisor and mentor to students and associates and plays a continuing role in their success and career progression.
