Osler is proud to announce its partnership with HEC Montréal,  Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Hydro-Québec on a new ethics and compliance certification for professionals and managers in both the private and public sectors. The program, announced in a press release by HEC Montréal, is the first certification of its kind offered in French in Canada. Osler partner Stéphane Eljarrat, national leader of Osler’s White-Collar Defence Practice Group, will be sharing his unique expertise in this area, as a lecturer in the program.

The new certification program, which was founded by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Hydro-Québec, consists of four training modules of two days each and a final simulation day. Its goal is to provide students with the necessary tools for implementing and managing ethics and compliance issues in both public and private organizations, as well as to promote the sharing of best practices in these areas and build a community of professionals interested in these matters in Québec organizations.

The program will begin on June 3, 2020, with a lecture entitled "Ethics, Trust and Success in Business," presented by Emmanuel Lulin, Director General of Ethics at L'Oréal, who will also act as sponsor of the first cohort. The four-course modules leading to a masters level university certification will enable students to explore topics such as the regulatory framework, whether international, national or sectoral; ethics and compliance in creating value for a corporation and its stakeholders; organizational leadership and the development of  compliance programs; the legal framework for public procurement; cyber security and the protection of personal data; and the prevention of corruption and harassment.
