Colin Feasby, QC appointed to Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta

Osler is pleased to congratulate Colin Feasby, QC on his appointment as a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.

Prior to his appointment, Colin was an Osler partner representing clients in corporate and securities litigation, energy industry disputes, insolvency/restructuring litigation, and constitutional matters. He has represented clients before all levels of courts in Alberta and Saskatchewan, the Federal Court of Canada, and before the Supreme Court of Canada. Colin has been a major supporter and advocate on behalf of pro bono clients, including the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and The Advocates’ Society. Colin served on Osler’s Community Law Committee for pro bono work within the firm and Osler’s Diversity Committee. Before joining Osler, Colin clerked for the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal.

Colin is a thought leader who has published on a range of commercial and constitutional law issues. He is a leading expert on the subject of law and democracy and is regularly cited by courts and academic authorities in Canada and elsewhere.

His community involvement has been focused on youth and sports. He has been involved with youth basketball for many years as a coach and administrator. Colin was a fundraiser and advisor to Right to Play in Alberta and a member of the Board of Directors of Children First Canada.
