Osler is pleased to welcome Shaira Nanji as a partner in our Tax Group working out of our Calgary office.
Shaira joins Osler with extensive experience in domestic and international tax planning. She is a strategic advisor and has counselled clients on numerous tax matters, including financing and mergers and acquisitions. Shaira has consulted on tax issues arising in connection with the acquisition of Canadian entities by foreign corporations, as well as the acquisition of foreign entities by Canadian corporations.
In addition to tax planning, Shaira has experience assisting clients with the management and resolution of Canadian tax audits and appeals. This includes preparing submissions and notice of objections, advising clients with respect to voluntary disclosures, advance tax rulings, and interest relief applications, negotiating with tax authorities, and formulating litigation strategies.
