Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP is proud to announce its Vancouver office is expanding to a new location effective August 14, 2023, a testament to the firm’s rapid growth and commitment to building full-service capabilities in the British Columbia market. The new office will be located at Bentall Four, 1055 Dunsmuir Street, Suites 3000 and 2900, centrally located in the heart of Vancouver’s business district. The new office will offer a dynamic meeting and collaboration space for Osler clients and legal professionals.

Eight years ago, Osler first opened its office in Vancouver to help serve its clients with business interests in British Columbia, led by Mark Longo as Office Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Emerging and High Growth Companies Group.

“From a standing start in 2015, we have built a full-service offering that is strategically positioned for the B.C. market and for our firm. Through the dedication and expertise of our team, we have become one of the fastest growing law firms in B.C. during that time. We have been purposeful about organically building a high-performance team consistent with Osler’s best-in-class offering nationally and commitment to the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives,” says Mark Longo. “Our growth is reflective of the trust our clients have placed with us, and we thank our B.C.-based clients for the ongoing opportunity to partner with them on their most important legal matters.”

Osler’s Vancouver office has grown to a team of over 100, which includes over 50 lawyers, specializing in various practice areas and industries, including emerging and high growth technology companies, venture capital, private equity, capital markets, public and private M&A, mining, corporate finance and securities, financial services, lending, commercial litigation, commercial real estate, tax litigation, tax planning, employment and intellectual property. The success of the Vancouver office is supported by the firm’s national platform and one-firm approach which allows Osler to tap into its deep bench strength of over 500 lawyers across the country in all practice areas.

In June 2023, Business in Vancouver included Osler in its “Biggest law firms in Metro Vancouver” list and noted that the firm experienced the largest growth rate of the firms that they tracked in the region. The expansion of Osler’s footprint in the city also reflects the acquisition of top-level legal talent from significant lateral hires at the partner and associate levels as well as a successful summer and articling student program, which have further strengthened the team and enhanced Osler’s ability to serve the firm’s clients effectively.

“We are tremendously proud of the success that our Vancouver team has achieved since our launch in 2015, and of the growth that the expansion of our presence in B.C. represents. Vancouver is a key market for the firm within our national platform, and we look forward to continuing to build on our success in the city in the years ahead.” says Doug Bryce, Osler National Managing Partner.
