On June 18, 2019, Animikii, an Indigenous-owned digital agency and social enterprise raised $1 million in financing from Raven Indigenous Capital Partners and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). The funds will be used to expand the team and support the development of Animikii’s Indigenous data sovereignty product. This is the largest investment to support an Indigenous technology social enterprise on Turtle Island.

The Raven Indigenous Impact Fund focuses on bringing flexible patient capital to invest with Indigenous social enterprises and community-owned enterprises in Canada that are at an early-and-growth stage.

Animikii, founded in 2003, is an Indigenous digital agency and social enterprise located in Victoria, British Columbia. Animikii provides website design, custom software, design and branding and digital communications that are Indigenous-focused. It is the first Indigenous certified B Corp in Canada.
