Sophie Amyot named Lawyer of the Year for Corporate Law by Young Bar of Montréal

Osler is proud to announce that Sophie Amyot was named Lawyer of the Year in the Corporate Law category at the 12th edition of the Young Bar of Montréal (YBM) “Leaders of Tomorrow” Gala. The awards, held on November 22, celebrate the next generation in the legal profession.

The winners of each category were selected by a committee composed of the YBM’s Governors Council, who considered the following criteria: excellence of the file; professional and personal achievements; vision and perspectives; and social commitment.

Sophie is an associate in Osler’s Corporate Group and her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, private equity and venture capital. She has acted for venture capital/private equity funds and institutional investors in their portfolio investments and divestitures, and for corporations in connection with corporate finance transactions. She has also acted for purchasers and vendors in connection with acquisition, merger and restructuring transactions.

The YBM is a non-profit organization founded in 1898 and composed of lawyers with 10 years or less of practice registered with the Montréal section of the Barreau du Québec. The YBM aims to defend and promote the interests of its members while contributing to the well-being of the community through providing voluntary legal advice and information to various segments of the population and organizing charitable activities.
