Ian obtained his J.D. from the University of British Columbia. He previously completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering at the University of British Columbia, where he graduated with distinction and received the Eldridge Memorial Prize for graduating with the highest standing.
Prior to law school, he worked in the mining industry for several years. His experience includes business development and mining engineering roles at the Vancouver office of a precious metals mining company, and mining engineering roles at coal, copper, and gold mines in Canada and the United States.
At law school, he participated in the Corporate Counsel Externship during which he worked in the legal department of a global lime mining company.
