Osler is proud to announce the addition of 10 new partners across five of our offices.

Toronto welcomes five new partners: Adam HirshRyan NielsenJohn SalloumLauren Tomasich and John Valley. Adam’s practice is focused on business-critical civil and commercial litigation and tax litigation, with particular expertise in class action defence, securities, competition law, commercial arbitrations and insolvency. Ryan’s practice involves all aspects of commercial property transactions, including the acquisition, disposition and financing of commercial real estate, joint ventures, property management and leasing of office, industrial, mixed-use and retail space. John Salloum is a member of the Marketing and Distribution and Privacy and Data Management practice groups, and advises clients on social media promotional programs as well as advertising and promotional materials across all media. Lauren practises corporate-commercial civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on class actions defence, securities litigation and product liability matters. John Valley practises corporate and securities law, with a particular emphasis on corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.

Both Bastien Gauthier and Chima Ubani have been named partners in our Montréal office. Bastien’s practice covers many areas of corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Chima practises corporate and securities law with an emphasis on private equity/venture capital fund formations and investments, emerging companies, corporate finance and private mergers and acquisitions.

Our Calgary office adds a new tax partner with the addition of Colena Der. Colena advises on tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, corporate finance, employee and executive compensation, cross-border transactions and tax dispute resolution.

Peter Macdonald is our new partner in Ottawa. He has a wide-ranging tax litigation and dispute resolution practice, with experience in transfer pricing, international tax and tax structuring.

Jennifer Lee is our new tax partner in New York. Her practice focuses on the U.S. federal income tax treatment of cross-border and domestic transactions and multinational corporations. She regularly represents foreign pension funds and governmental entities in connection with investments in hedge funds, private equity funds and other private investment vehicles.
