Osler welcomes new partner André Perey to our Toronto office

Osler is pleased to welcome André Perey as a partner in our National Emerging and High Growth Companies Practice Group. Actively involved in the Toronto-Waterloo emerging venture ecosystem through various initiatives, André further strengthens our team with his extensive experience working alongside the leaders of early, growth and late-stage ventures.

André brings more than two decades of experience advising clients on a wide range of corporate law and venture capital financing matters and mergers & acquisitions. He has been at the centre of some of the largest and most strategic M&A activity in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) space and has acted for several leading academics in machine learning and AI transactions with global consumer internet companies and research institutes. He is well-versed in representing entrepreneurs and media and technology ventures across multiple industries – including software, digital media, online commerce, financial services, retail, food and renewable energy – as well as strategic and financial investors in and acquirers of such businesses. André regularly advises foreign companies investing in or establishing Canadian ventures and helps structure, negotiate and implement a variety of complex commercial contracts involving the development, licensing and acquisition of intellectual property and technology. André is actively involved with organizations such as The Next 36, CIX, MaRS, Communitech and The Entrepreneurship Society and he regularly speaks at industry conferences on business law. He serves on the advisory board of Integrate.ai and is on the board of directors of UBS Bank (Canada), the Toronto Foundation and formerly Connect Legal (merged with Pro Bono Law Ontario) and he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996.
