Meet Osler’s IBA Organizing Committee
Emmanuel (Manny) Pressman is Co-Chair of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt and a member of the Partnership Board. He represents public and private companies, private equity sponsors, special committees, boards of directors, and investment banks involved in take-over bids, proxy contests, joint ventures, negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, and a range of corporate transactions and restructurings.
Shahir is the former National Co-Chair of the firm and served on its Partnership Board for 10 years. He is a partner in the Corporate Group. He was Managing Partner of the Montréal office for 7 years prior to becoming national Co-Chair. He has over 30 years of experience and is a recognized advisor in M&A, private equity and corporate finance.
Sonia is the former Chair of Osler’s National Disputes Group and past president of the Advocates’ Society. Sonia has extensive experience defending companies in class actions, commercial arbitration and other complex litigation, including advising clients on strategies for managing risks and cross-border issues in multi-jurisdictional cases.
Timothy is Co-Chair of the Tax Group and leads the capital markets tax practice at Osler. He advises on a wide range of corporate finance transactions, from traditional IPOs and private placements to innovative financial instruments, including hybrid securities, Basel III compliant capital, securitizations, securities loans, and derivatives.
