Meseret earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Manitoba. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies with a minor in Conflict Resolution.
During law school, Meseret served in several leadership roles, including as co-President of the Black Law Students’ Association for three consecutive years. She also gained practical experience through one of the faculty’s legal clinics, where she conducted research for the Public Interest Law Centre.
Prior to law school, Meseret worked as an operations manager for a non-profit organization and as a constituency assistant for a member of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly.
