Osler sponsors inaugural Moving the Dial event

Jan 16, 2017

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP announces its sponsorship of the inaugural Moving the Dial event, which aims to spotlight successful women entrepreneurs and examine how women can be equally represented in Canadian technology.

Aimed at Toronto’s local tech community, the event kicks off the Women’s Founders Night Series and will feature a panel of accomplished women founders and investors addressing the barriers women face in technology – including the challenge women-led businesses have securing venture capital funding.

Chad Bayne, Co-Chair and partner in Osler’s Emerging Companies Group, says events like this are crucial to promoting diversity. “Engaging 100% of the talent pool is essential to scaling up and taking leadership positions in the tech space at home — and around the world – and Osler is proud to be a sponsor of Moving the Dial,” Bayne says.

According to Bayne, the event will help move the dial not just in Toronto but in all of the major Canadian markets. “Osler’s dedication to helping build strong, diverse, and sustainable Canadian businesses makes this a natural fit for our firm,” he adds.

The sold-out event, which will take place at MaRS Discovery District on January 16, is expected to have more than 400 people in attendance, including over 100 female founders and representatives from top Canadian startups and venture capital funds.
