Osler's IP Group recognized by World Trademark Review 1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals 2023

Osler is proud to announce that our Intellectual Property Group has once again earned the silver band ranking in both the Firms and Firms: anti-counterfeiting categories of the 2023 World Trademark Review 1000 — The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals (the WTR 1000). Five of our lawyers also earned special recognition individually for their “outstanding” legal expertise in various areas of trademark practice. The WTR 1000 has lauded Osler as an “ambitious business law firm” that “has made intellectual property a cornerstone of its offering.”

Donna, Managing Partner of Osler’s Ottawa office, was praised by WTR 1000 with having “a thorough understanding of Canadian law” and being “one of the best foreign associates around the world.” Donna’s practice focuses on trademark prosecution with a significant emphasis on proceedings before the Trademark Opposition Board.

May, who has over 25 years of experience in advising clients on all aspects of intellectual property protection and enforcement, is “absolutely superb” and “a shining star at the firm,” according to WTR 1000.

John was recognized by WTR 1000 as “a fantastic resource who delivers a wealth of expertise, practical advice, and takes corporate objectives into account.” He has extensive experience in disputes relating to copyright, trademarks, domain names, trade secrets/confidential information, counterfeit products, misleading advertising, software licensing and IT projects, including disputes arising out of software development and software integration projects.
