Osler welcomes seven new partners and one new counsel to our offices in Toronto, Montréal, Calgary and Vancouver.

Osler is pleased to announce the addition of seven new partners and one new counsel across our offices in Toronto, Montréal, Calgary and Vancouver, effective March 1, 2024.

New partners

Toronto

The Toronto office welcomes three new partners: Eric Choi (Real Estate), Marissa Kirsh (Commercial) and Mark Sheeley (Litigation).

Eric’s practice encompasses all aspects of commercial property transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial real estate.

Marissa’s practice covers many areas of corporate and commercial law, with a focus on the energy, financial services and infrastructure sectors. 

Mark has a wide-ranging corporate-commercial litigation practice, with expertise in complex class action litigation and matters relating to securities, tax, insolvency, administrative law and internal investigations.

Montréal

The Montréal office introduced Calvin Leung (Emerging and High Growth Companies) as a new partner.

Calvin practices corporate law with a focus on corporate finance, particularly in venture capital and growth capital, emerging and high growth companies, private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He works with companies at all stages of their life cycle and has led a range of Canadian and international transactions.

Calgary

The Calgary office welcomes Mike Proudfoot (Corporate) as a new partner.

Mike’s practice focuses on corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate matters. Mike has acted in plans of arrangement, hostile take-over bids, private equity transactions, share and asset acquisitions and proxy contests, as well as domestic and cross-border debt and equity offerings.

Vancouver

The Vancouver office welcomes two new partners: Patrick J. Sullivan (Corporate) and Anousheh Torabi (Real Estate).

Patrick practices mining, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactional law, with an emphasis on advising public companies in the mining, technology, private equity and beverage industries. He also advises on corporate governance matters, including proxy contests and other shareholder disputes.

Anousheh’s practice covers a range of real property matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, real estate development and lending for industrial, office, retail and residential portfolios. Anousheh practices out of both of our Vancouver and Calgary offices.

New counsel

Osler is also proud to announce the admission of Montréal-based associate François Laurin-Pratte (Litigation) to the role of counsel, effective March 1, 2024.

François provides strategic support for large-scale trials in inferior courts and in appeal court hearings. Specializing in complex legal research and the drafting of legal opinions, appellant’s briefs and plans of argument, his practice covers various areas of civil and commercial law.
