The Canadian and Ontario-based legal landscape has recently experienced significant change with the introduction of new amendments to the Canada Labour Code and the passing of the Ford government’s Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018. Both federal and provincial employers should ensure that they understand the implications that these changes pose for their business. In the case of federal employers, this means taking steps to prepare for the anticipated requirements – while provincially regulated businesses should confirm that they have adequately responded to the already instituted legislation through a review of their workplace policies.   Join Osler’s Employment & Labour team as they discuss:

  • The federal changes to the minimum labour standards of the Canada Labour Code (Bill C-86)
  • The revocation of the changes introduced through the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 in Ontario
  • Recent important case/arbitration decisions

We will also finish off with a “sprint”, where we will present a quick touch point survey of issues affecting employers.

There is no cost to participate. The Webinar will be broadcasted at three separate occasions to better suit your schedule.
