The Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry (ISED) recently introduced sweeping amendments to the current text of the federal government’s proposed legislative scheme to regulate artificial intelligence systems, the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA). These proposed amendments to AIDA will be considered by the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology (INDU) in connection with the consideration of Bill C-27. As part of our continuing focus on AI and broader legislative reform in the Canadian privacy and data arena, Adam Kardash leads a discussion to help clarify the key features and implications of the proposed amendments to AIDA.
