Kaitlyn Margison

Kaitlyn practices intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patent disputes.

Kaitlyn received her J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2023. During law school, Kaitlyn was an avid mooter, finishing as a quarter-finalist in the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot, and a semi-finalist in the Canadian Harold G. Fox Moot where she won Best Appellant Factum. She also worked in a public-interest clinic assisting on copyright matters before the Federal Court of Appeal.

In her legal work, Kaitlyn leverages her scientific background, holding a MSc. in Chemistry, a BSc. in Biomedical Science, and a graduate diploma in scientific management and leadership. Her academic research included organic chemistry, molecular biology and chemical biology. Kaitlyn is a co-author of several research publications covering antioxidant chemistry, immunometabolism, and click chemistry.

Kaitlyn joined Osler as a summer student in 2021 and completed her articles with the firm in 2023-2024. Before returning to Osler as an Associate, Kaitlyn clerked at the Federal Court where she worked under Honourable Justice Michael D. Manson and assisted on numerous intellectual property files.
