Laura is an associate in the Regulatory, Indigenous and Environmental practice group in Osler’s Calgary office. Her practice is focused on regulatory, Indigenous and environmental law issues that impact energy and natural resource development projects.
Laura has experience with matters before the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Laura’s recent regulatory work has included obtaining regulatory approvals for energy projects, providing advice to project proponents regarding the impact of new and emerging policies and regulations in the energy space, representing regulated utilities and common carriers in disputes regarding tolls and tariffs and advising clients regarding environmental compliance issues. She also regularly advises clients on their obligations to Indigenous groups.
Laura completed her law degree with honours in 2014 at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, where she is from. She also holds a Master of Law degree in natural resources, energy and environmental law from the University of Calgary.
