Reya completed her J.D. at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. While in law school, Reya was a senior editor on the Journal of Law & Equality and volunteered with the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights. She worked in-house with EDP Renewables and Alberta Lawyers Indemnity Association during her summers.

Prior to law school, Reya completed her B.Sc. (First-Class Honours) in Environmental Science with a minor in Biology. She received the Thesis Prize for her research on quantifying habitat effectiveness for wildcats in Nova Scotia.
