Tian completed her J.D. at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. During the summer of 2021, she worked as a Casebook Research Assistant for the Faculty, conducting research in various areas of law including contracts, torts, property, and labour & employment law.

While at law school, Tian volunteered for Artists’ Legal Advice Services and the International Human Rights Program. She was also an Associate Editor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review, a Student Representative for the Future of Law Lab, and an Executive Member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society.

Prior to law school, Tian was a classical pianist. In addition to giving performances of classical and new music, she taught students and judged competitions and examinations.
