Osler is proud to announce that François Paradis has been appointed as the new Managing Partner of our Montréal office. This appointment is effective June 16, 2025.

François is widely recognized within Montréal’s business community and by his peers as a leading lawyer in business law and capital markets. He joined Osler as a student shortly after the Montréal office opened in 2001 and has been instrumental to the growth and reputation of Osler in the Québec market.

“I am delighted that François will be leading our Montréal office into the future,” says Doug Bryce, Osler’s National Managing Partner. “His experience acting for our clients on their most challenging matters has helped him develop into an ideal fit for the role.”

François’s practice covers many areas of corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and governance matters. He has acted for issuers and underwriters in numerous high-profile public offerings, including those of Bausch + Lomb, Lightspeed, Dialogue, Alithya, Milestone Pharma, and DAVIDsTEA.

He succeeds Sandra Abitan, Ad. E., who has served as Managing Partner of the Montréal office since 2017.

“We are confident that François’s leadership will help us continue to deliver outstanding client service and drive the growth and success of our firm in Québec,” says Sandra. “François will help us continue building on the investments we have made in the success of our people and our clients.”

Sandra will continue to lead Osler’s Insolvency and Restructuring practice in Montréal, a role she has actively and successfully pursued throughout her tenure as Managing Partner.
