The Government of Ontario has appointed Larry Ritchie, partner, Disputes, and Chair of the Risk Management and Crisis Response practice, as a member of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario’s (FSRA) Board of Directors. His appointment was made on the recommendation of Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy and was effective January 15, 2026.

Larry previously served on the expert panel that laid the groundwork for an enhanced financial services regulator that became FSRA and later joined FSRA’s inaugural Board of Directors when the organization was first established. He brings more than 30 years of legal, regulatory, governance and capital markets experience to the FSRA Board.

“FSRA’s Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Mr. Ritchie back to the organization. Larry brings exceptional regulatory, governance, and capital markets expertise, and his demonstrated commitment to the public interest will further strengthen the Board’s oversight at a pivotal time for financial services regulation in Ontario,” says Doug Turnbull, Chair of FSRA’s Board of Directors.

Among his many career highlights, Larry took a leave from private practice to serve as Vice Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission, where he participated on the Board of Directors, the Executive Management Committee, and the Adjudicative Committee, and adjudicated regulatory matters as a tribunal member. Larry returned to Osler to resume his law practice in 2014.
