Osler has been recognized as a Gold Tier Member in the Pro Bono Ontario (PBO) Impact Report 2022. This annual report highlights transformative initiatives and projects taken on by PBO throughout the year, which have contributed to their vision of providing meaningful access to legal services to every Ontarian. In 2022, PBO served 34,000 clients in more than 500 cities across the province, which was made possible through the continuous support and contributions of volunteers.
In May, Osler’s Lia Bruschetta, Alexandra McLennan Brown, Simon Cameron, Brodie Noga and Rohan Shah were named to PBO’s Honour Roll for their significant contributions to access to justice through PBO’s programs.
Currently only 5% of Ontario’s 57,000 lawyers volunteer with PBO. Their goal is to reach a participation rate of 20% in 2023. By doubling the current volunteer base, PBO could help up to 60,000 clients this year.
