On June 28th, 2017, China National Chemical Corporation (“ChemChina”) acquired Syngenta AG for US$43 billion. Osler acted for ChemChina on the competition/antitrust aspects of its acquisition. This is the largest ever foreign purchase by a Chinese firm to date.

ChemChina is a Chinese state-owned chemical company. It is headquartered in Beijing, China. 

Syngenta AG is a Swiss seed and agrochemical company. It is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland.
