On July 23, 2020, Sierra Wireless announced its definitive agreement to divest its Shenzhen, China based automotive embedded module product line for US$165 million to Rolling Wireless (H.K.) Limited, a consortium led by Fibocom Wireless Inc.

Fibocom Wireless Inc. was founded in 1999 and was the first wireless communication module and Internet of Things (IoT) solution provider in China. Headquartered in Shenzhen, with research and development centers in both Shenzhen and Xi’an, Fibocom is a multinational company located in North America, Europe, India, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, serving customers in over 100 countries.

Sierra Wireless is a leading, British Columbia based IoT solutions provider that combines devices, network services and software to unlock value in the connected economy.
