On September 25, 2017, Deep Genomics announced its Series A financing round of approximately US$13 million.

The round was led by the U.S. venture capital firm Khosla Ventures, and was joined by True Ventures, which led Deep Genomics’ US$5 million seed financing in 2015.

Deep Genomics is a Toronto-based genetic medicine start-up that develops a machine learning technology to understand how genetic variations lead to diseases and to support geneticists, molecular biologists and chemists in the development of therapies.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP represented Deep Genomics with a team consisting of Chad Bayne, Justin Dharamdial, Kate Royer, and Arielle Kaplan (Corporate), and Steven Dickie (Labour & Employment).
