Chad Bayne

As a founder and Co-Chair of Osler’s Emerging and High Growth Companies Practice Group, he advises various emerging and growth companies across all technology sectors, the venture capital funds and investors that finance them and the strategic acquirors who buy them.

He advises clients in connection with a variety of transactions including acquisitions and divestitures, venture capital, growth equity and private equity financings, joint ventures, strategic alliances and initial public offerings.

Chad is widely recognized as the leading lawyer in Canada for startups and venture capital investors as the only Band 1 lawyer currently ranked in Chambers Canada’s Startup and Emerging Companies Category. Chambers notes that “Chad’s domain knowledge on how the startup and venture capital ecosystem works is unmatched in the country." Chad also plays a central role in Osler’s efforts in Rotman’s Creative Destruction Lab which we support at a national level, NEXT Canada (NEXT AI, NEXT 36 & NEXT Founders), C100, Deloitte’s Fast 50 Program and League of Innovators (formerly The Next Big Thing).
