Building an emerging growth business in today’s competitive business environment takes determination, focus and a broad skillset to navigate the roadblocks along the path to success. At Osler, our Emerging and High Growth Companies Practice understand the challenges professionals in this sector face in the race to be the first and the best. Our team members are passionate about entrepreneurship and the growth of early stage ventures. They have insights into how to ensure long-term success and have helped many leaders in this area of business reach their goals.

To help foster greater knowledge to the broader tech ecosystem, Osler is launching its Women in Emerging and High Growth Companies Leadership Series.

Available live and on-demand, each one-hour session will feature inspirational women leaders from the Canadian Emerging and High Growth community sharing their stories of success, the challenges encountered along the way and lessons learned from their careers.

On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, Osler hosted its inaugural female-focused series, commencing with a fireside chat featuring Michelle Scarborough, Managing Partner of Women in Technology Venture Fund at BDC and Raquel Urtasun, CEO and Founder of Waabi, professor at U of T and co-founder of the Vector Institute of AI.

During this session, Michelle discussed Raquel’s story, from her journey from Uber ATG to starting Waabi and putting Toronto and Canada on the map as a leader in self-driving technology.

This discussion, and subsequent ones to follow in this series, will provide a unique opportunity to gain the perspective of those leading in EHG companies today, and learn more about their strategies for success.
