Virginia (Ginny) Galpin

Ginny Galpin is a Canadian patent agent and a JD candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School with a strong background in chemistry and intellectual property. She holds an M.Sc. in Physical Analytical Chemistry from the University of Guelph and a B.Sc. in Honours Chemistry from the University of Waterloo.

Ginny is involved in Osgoode’s IP innovation clinic as a Clinic Fellow and a clinic coordinator, where she combines scientific expertise with legal training to address complex technological and legal challenges facing startups and small businesses. In her spare time, Ginny enjoys mooting, running, and baking.


Awards and Recognition

  • At Osgoode, Ginny is the recipient of the Ronald J. Rolls ’58 Q.C. Prize for achieving the highest standing in her section’s Legal Process course, and the McMillan LLP Award for Academic Excellence. She was the 3rd place oralist at the Oxford IP moot in 2026, the 2nd place respondent team at the Cassels Cup (Baby Gale) Moot in 2025, and 4th oralist at the Public and Constitutional Law Moot in 2024.
