Haben Dawit

Haben is entering his fourth and final year of the JD/MBA program at Osgoode Hall and Schulich School of Business. During the school year, he works in the Office of the General Counsel for a high growth start-up in the technology space, assisting them in the areas of corporate governance, intellectual property, risk management, securities, labour/employment, and more.

While at school, Haben was Co-President of the Osgoode Venture Capital Law Society and a Student Caseworker with the Investor Protection Clinic. At the Clinic, he worked closely with low-income clients who experienced investment loss in order to assist them in recouping their defrauded or lost funds.

Haben spent the last two summers working at Osler as a Summer Student in the Competition, Trade & Foreign Investment, Litigation, and Insolvency & Restructuring practice groups.

Prior to law school, he received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Political Science from Toronto Metropolitan University. At TMU, he served on the Senate Appeals Committee, where he reviewed active cases of academic and non-academic misconduct alongside faculty members.
