Alex Farrant

Alex is an associate in Osler’s Disputes Department and member of the Regulatory, Indigenous, and Environmental practice group. Alex maintains a general civil and commercial litigation practice and assists clients with a range of regulatory mandates.

Alex obtained his J.D. from the University of British Columbia. He previously obtained his B.A. (Hons) in Law, Government and Policy, with a Minor in Environmental Studies, from Carleton University, where he graduated with High Distinction.

While in law school, Alex worked as a research assistant to Professor Bethany Hastie, researching constitutional, labour, and administrative law. Alex was also a clinician with UBC’s International Justice and Human Rights Clinic where he worked closely with the All-Party Parliamentary Group to End Modern Slavery.

Alex joined Osler’s Toronto office after articling and practising with an international law firm in Vancouver. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. Alex is licensed to practise law in Ontario and British Columbia.
