Sean practises corporate and securities law, with a focus on investment funds and asset management. He advises fund managers, institutional investors and pension funds on a broad range of matters involving private equity funds, hedge funds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and managed account arrangements, including fund formations, LP-side investments, and registration and regulatory compliance.
Sean holds a JD from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Ivey Business School, where he graduated as an Ivey Scholar (top 10% of his class) and on the Dean’s Honour List. He also holds an Honours BMOS degree with a Specialization in Finance and Administration from Western University. Sean draws on his business and legal training to provide clients with practical, commercially grounded advice on fund structuring, fund investments and other transactional matters.
Prior to joining Osler, Sean worked at a leading law firm in Vancouver, where he advised on private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate commercial matters. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 2023 and the Ontario bar in 2024.
