Osler is pleased to welcome Colin Feasby to the role of Managing Partner of the Firm’s Calgary office, effective January 1, 2017. Colin brings over 18 years of experience and familiarity with Osler to the position, having started his career as an articling student at our Calgary office. As the Calgary office expanded, so too did Colin’s litigation practice at Osler, as he has proven himself over the years to be a trusted and accomplished trial and appeal lawyer. His practice focuses on complex corporate and securities litigation matters and energy industry disputes, with a special focus on constitutional matters. Colin has represented clients before all levels of courts in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, the Federal Court of Canada, and before the Supreme Court of Canada. Through his many years of experience at Osler, he brings a deep and thorough understanding of our client base and firmly believes in our client-focused approach to matters. Colin will continue his full litigation practice.
Colin brings continuity and familiarity to the role of Managing Partner and plans to emulate the clarity, vision and client-focused approach espoused by his predecessor, Maureen Killoran, Q.C.. Maureen says Colin is the perfect choice to succeed her in the role and admires his leadership qualities.
“I am delighted that Colin will be assuming the role of Calgary Office Managing Partner,” Maureen says. “Colin is driven, thoughtful and business-minded, and his in-depth knowledge of our client base and the Alberta legal environment makes him the ideal candidate.”
Shawn Denstedt, Q.C., Osler National Co-Chair, echoed Maureen’s sentiments and expressed gratitude to both her and Colin.
“I am confident Colin will pick up right where Maureen left off,” Shawn says. “I’d like to thank Maureen for doing an exceptional job in leading Osler’s Calgary office over the past several years and I know Colin will follow suit.”
Maureen successfully guided Osler’s Calgary office through challenging economic times over the past six years as Managing Partner while maintaining an extremely active litigation practice. She became the first female Managing Partner of a national law firm in Alberta and brought a thoughtful and pragmatic approach during her tenure. She continues her litigation practice at Osler, specializing in complex commercial disputes with particular emphasis on the resource industry.
